About Unfilter Her
Unfilter Her grew from a deep understanding of what it feels like to be silenced - to question your voice, doubt your worth or feel “too much” for the space you’re in.
Many girls still receive messages, directly or subtly, that they should be quieter, smaller, easier or less expressive. That silencing shows up everywhere, including around periods and the emotional changes that come with them. Awkwardness, shame and secrecy teaches girls to keep it all "in".
Unfilter Her exists to gently undo that.
In a safe, open space, girls can ask the questions they don’t know where else to ask and learn what’s normal for their bodies and periods. Through creative conversation and writing, they explore their menstrual cycle, feelings and identity without shame, judgement or pressure to “be okay.” They leave feeling more informed, reassured and confident in themselves - knowing they’re not alone in what they’re experiencing.
Why This Matters for Girls Today
Many girls grow up feeling confused, embarrassed or alone when it comes to periods and the changes that come with them. Conversations are often rushed, awkward or avoided altogether.
Unfilter Her creates spaces where girls can ask questions, understand their bodies and speak openly without shame or pressure.
When girls feel informed, heard and supported, they grow in confidence - not just in their bodies, but in their voices too.
Because girls who feel heard grow into women who do not shrink.

What You Can Expect
Every Unfilter Her space is guided by a few simple principles:
Emotional safety
comes first
Girls are welcomed into a respectful, supportive space where they can talk about periods and growing up without embarrassment or fear of being judged.
No judgement, pressure or expectation to share
Every girl can take part in her own way - asking questions, joining conversations, writing or simply listening and learning.
Creative expression over “perfect” words
Writing and creative activities help girls explore their thoughts, questions and experiences without worrying about saying the “right” thing.
Understanding grows through education
Girls receive clear, honest education about periods and menstrual health so they can understand their bodies and feel more confident navigating it.
Whether you come feeling open, unsure, tired, or curious, you’re welcome as you are.

Inside Teen Period Workshops
These sessions create a relaxed and welcoming environment where girls can talk openly about periods, breaking the silence around topics that are often kept quiet.
Girls are encouraged to ask questions, share experiences and learn more about menstrual health and what’s normal.
Through simple writing prompts, conversation and creative activities, girls can laugh, vent, reflect and connect with others who may be feeling similar things.
The sessions are supportive, educational and often surprisingly fun. No writing experience is needed and nothing needs to be prepared in advance.
Girls will spend time writing, talking, listening and connecting in a safe, respectful and non-judgemental space where their voices matter.
Many girls say it’s the first time they’ve been able to talk about periods openly and realise they’re not the only one feeling the way they do.
